Baby Shower and Court Date

 Isaac is three weeks old now; that is so hard to believe!  Time is flying by.  The last couple weeks have been a whirlwind of activities including visiting Isaac and a baby shower.  Some really awesome ladies at church decided to throw Brian and I a baby shower for Isaac.  The food was great and the decorations were beautiful.  Also, we got some really great stuff for Isaac.  I'm so thankful for everyone that helped put this together and for those who came to support us.  Here are some pictures:

 Now for some other news - we have a court date!!  It is set for April 1st which I have to say is later than what we had hoped for but we are just glad to have the date set.  We know that God is in control and that the adoption will happen in his timing.  I'm really not sure what all is involved with the court date or the exact date we will get him but at least we are starting to move along in the process.  Until then we know that Isaac is in capable and loving hands with his foster family and we are grateful that we get to continue to visit him on the weekends.  It's really hard not being able to have him yet but we are trusting in God that this is the right thing.  The Jesus Calling Devotional yesterday was called "Refuse to Worry!" and came at a great time for us.  Here's what it said:

Refuse to worry!  In this world there will always be something enticing you to worry.  that is the nature of a fallen, fractured planet: Things are not as they should be.  So the temptation to be anxious is constantly with you, trying to worm its way into your mind.  The best defense is continual communication with Me, richly seasoned with thanksgiving.  Awareness of My Presence fills your mind with Light and Peace, leaving no room for fear.  This awareness lifts you up above your circumstances, enabling you to see problems from My perspective.  Live close to Me!  Together we can keep the wolves of worry at bay.

"Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?  Since you cannot do this very thing, why do you worry about the rest?"

So instead of worrying about the court date and being upset that it is later than what we hoped we have to be thankful that the process is moving along.  I'm not saying it has been easy but I know that God is in control.
